Galaxy Council Member of the Month

Ralph Willett – A Galaxy member since 1998, Ralph Willett joined the Galaxy Council because, in his own words “I love airplanes”. In the early 1940’s Ralph was a member of the Holyoke Gas Model Club where he served as Treasurer. In 1943 he joined the Army Air Corps as a cadet. However, since there was a critical need for mechanics, Ralph was assigned to the 12th Army Air Corps where he served as a P-38 Lightning crew chief with assignments in Naples, Florence and Anzio, Italy. Later Ralph joined the Air National Guard in Westfield where he helped maintain P-47 and P-51 fighters. Ralph’s civilian career was with Northeast Utilities where he retired in 1989 as a supervisor. Ralph’s son James is a full time member of the 337th AS at Westover. Ralph Willett is another fine example of the type of member that makes the Galaxy Council such a great organization. Thanks Ralph, for your support.
